Eastwest Medico ApS is a family-owned Danish company that has spent seventeen years connecting medical device manufacturers in Asia with the institutions that protect people. What we actually sell is not a glove. It is the certainty that the glove is what the paperwork says it is.
The problem we exist to solve.
Most of the world's medical gloves are made in a small number of countries by manufacturers a European buyer will never visit. The gloves arrive with certificates. Some of those certificates mean what they appear to mean, and some do not.
A hospital procurement officer cannot audit a factory in Malaysia, and should not have to. Our function is to stand between the two: to qualify the manufacturer, verify the product against the standard it claims, and put our own name on the documentation that travels with it.
That is an unglamorous business and it is entirely a question of rigour. It is also why our own quality team works inside partner factories during production rather than reading reports afterwards, and why we publish which editions of which standards we have actually read.
Four commitments, stated so they can be checked.
Every product ships with declarations of conformity, accredited third-party test reports and manufacturer ISO certificates, cited by edition. Where an edition has been superseded we say so rather than repeat the older citation.
Our own quality team works at partner factories during production runs, with independent SGS or TÜV pre-shipment inspection on every run. A report tells you the outcome only after the batch exists.
Multiple manufacturers qualified per specification, with documentation already reviewed. When a long-established manufacturer wound down in April 2026, supply continued without a change in specification because the alternative was already approved.
Where we have not read a standard, or hold a superseded edition, we record it rather than quoting figures we cannot verify. A supplier who is never uncertain is not checking.

Our own glove brand launched across nitrile, latex and vinyl. In the same period, 100 oxygen concentrators delivered to Maersk in India in record time during the COVID-19 surge.
More than one million boxes awarded on an EU tender against larger established brands. Prosenso™ BIODEGRADABLE launched, accelerator-free by formulation and holding full medical certification. Joined the UN Global Compact in December.
Long-Term Arrangement signed with UNICEF in November 2023, qualifying the company as a framework supplier to one of the largest humanitarian procurement organisations in the world.
Four-year framework for sterile surgical gloves to a Danish health region, awarded on delkontrakt 2 against eight tenders as the Prosenso ApS and Eastwest Medico ApS consortium. One of four contracts on the tender, alongside Mölnlycke, OneMed and Abena.
In the joint national tender for non-sterile examination gloves, Prosenso ApS was awarded three of the five delaftaler: nitrile long cuff, accelerator-free, and latex standard. Four-year frameworks covering Region Hovedstaden, Sjælland, Nordjylland, Midtjylland and Syddanmark.
Awarded on Lot 1, personal protective equipment, of the UNOPS long-term agreement for infection prevention supplies (RFP/2024/54109), award date 24 September 2025. The agreement serves the Stop TB Partnership's Global Drug Facility, administered by i+solutions.
Five of the ten lots in the joint surgical glove tender awarded to Prosenso ApS, across latex and latex-free, single and double-donning systems. Region Nordjylland led the tender and Region Syddanmark, Hovedstaden and Sjælland held an option to join, which they did not exercise, so the four-year frameworks run with Region Nordjylland alone.
When the manufacturer named in that framework wound down in April, sterile surgical glove supply continued from the Sempermed® range with no change in specification. This is the event we would point to if asked what the company is actually for.
Who you are dealing with.
A small company means the people who qualify your suppliers and verify your documentation are the same people you speak to. Every article on this site carries a named author for the same reason.

Our own staff, present at partner factories during production runs. Leaching time and cure temperature are line settings, and a test report describes them only after the batch exists. Being on site is what makes an assessment more than a questionnaire.
Independent pre-shipment inspection is additionally provided by SGS and TÜV on every production run.
Where the hard part actually is.
The Malaysian glove industry has a documented history of forced labour findings, including import bans over recruitment fees, passport retention and debt bondage among migrant workers. Any European company sourcing gloves from the region is exposed to that history, and a supplier who says otherwise has not looked.
We do not claim our process eliminates that risk. It establishes a documented basis for assessing it, and an obligation to act on what the assessment finds.
